Please
Read
Soundtrack
Key, Vocal Range, Instrumentation Definitions And Whether A
Title Has Background Vocals Or Not.
The Encore Trax soundtracks are listed with
the following information about each track.
Please read this to understand our
definitions of the vocal range, keys, instrumentations and how
we indicate when a title has BG Vocals or not.
How to check
whether a track
has BGV's or not.
First listen to the
track and look for the new "B" or "N" after
the track number.
We have some tracks both with and
without background singers. Not all songs are available
with and without. Some songs are only available with and
some other songs may only be available without BGV.
Each version with
or without BGV's is assigned its own track number.
Both versions DO NOT COME ON THE SAME CD or Download.
Only one version is shipped unless you order and pay for both
versions. If you want both version this will be treated
and charged as two soundtracks. You should select both
the With and the Without track numbers if you want both
versions and it should show up on your checkout stand as two
separate line items. The track number
followed by a "B" indicates this is the With BGV
version. The track number
followed by an "N" indicates this is the Without BGV
version. The vocal demo listened to online will have
the BG Vocals included even if you are listening to the without
BGV version. This is to let you know the full vocal
arrangement of the track. The track number will have a
"B" after it for the with BGV versions. A few
of the soundtrack clips still have the BGV's if available in
the demo clip. We provide both the
soundtrack clips with and without BGV if it is available in
both formats.
You will find each title listed with the
instrumentation that is included for that track and the last
listing will be BG Vocal if this track or track number has
BGV's.
As a confirmation, the track number should
have a "B" after the track number and the instrumentation
should have BGV's listed with the instrumentation if that
title has BGV's.
If you still have questions about a
particular title and whether it has BGV's or not please email
or call us or include a note with your order expressing your
preference for with or without BGV's when available.
Please let us know if you only want a track if it does or does
not have BGV's.
Again, not all songs are available both
ways.
The ranges used
are:
High Range
- This is usually for tenors or high sopranos. Sometimes
a bass vocalist can use this range by singing a octave
low. Please listen carefully before ordering.
Make sure the range fits your voice.
Medium Range
- This is for female sopranos and male lead vocal ranges. Please
listen carefully before ordering. Make sure the range
fits your voice.
Low Range
- is usually for Altos and sometimes a low baritone or bass
singer can sometimes use this range. Please listen carefully
before ordering. Make sure the range fits your voice. Hi/Lo
Range - This is when a song can be sung by either a
high voice or by a low voice. This does not mean that
the track includes both a low and a high versions. Please
listen carefully before ordering. Make sure the range
fits your voice.
Group Only Range
- This means this song is best suited for a group of 2 or more
singers like a duet with a soprano/lead and a harmony
consisting of an alto or tenor. This "Group Only" really
is referring to the fact that the track changes keys one or
more times in this arrangement and more than one vocal range
is used to reach the melody within this arrangement. Please
listen carefully before ordering. Make sure the range
fits your voice.
Key(s):
The key(s) are shown in the following
format. F - this means this track is in
the key of "F" and does not modulate to another key. F/G/Ab
- this means this track starts in the key of "F"
modulates to "G" and finally to the key of A Flat or
Ab all within this arrangement. This does not mean this
title is available in three different keys. If
the same title is available in different keys it will have its own track number assigned.
Instrumentation:
All tracks include a rhythm section unless
indicated otherwise. A rhythm section includes but is not
limited to, Bass Guitar, Drums, Percussion, Acoustic Rhythm
Guitar, Piano/Electric Piano and Electric Guitar. There
are some other instrument sounds used and are listed as
